![]() Once there, you should find some Terrans and/or ATF. If you havent been there before, you go north into Enduring Light, east into Nathans Voyage, north into Black Hole Sun and west into Treasure Chest. Your first job is to proceed to the war zone, indicated with red names in the nav map. You get a welcome speech and sent off to join the front lines. In M148, there is a position marker to find. (If you started as Terran, then stop now, this is an Argon plot.) If you are an Argon Peacekeeper, you start in M148. Proceed to Argon Sector M148 or M148 as I’ll call it from now on, from where ever you start from. If your game start is not as Argon Peacekeeper, then you begin with a Link mission. Jumping is quicker, especially jumping home is quicker. Crawling around the universe can be tedious, and some of the plots have a long way to go. And have as many ecells on hand as you can carry. Unless you enjoy being a snail, invest in a jumpdrive if you don’t have one at game start. ![]() Gold tags around an object and gold arrows help show the way to go, especially when you have not been there before. ![]() I recommend you turn on the mission guidance. It depends a lot on what sort of combat pilot you are. On the other hand, that expensive missile you pick up, could save your life. Are they ammunition or money in the bank ? Selling missiles other ships drop can be very lucrative. Selling what is dropped by those stupid enough to get killed, is a viable way of making money. There is some serious money making to be made in the war sectors for those with a large cargo bay and the balls to collect containers in a war zone. This is a WAR after all, and you are signing up to be cannon fodder ! That varies for everyone depending on their combat skills, so make sure if you need shielding, you get it before starting the plot. I recommend you do some money making before you start the plot, and upgrade yourself to what you consider is a decent ship. But what your flying depends on how often you get killed, so there is a balance. It is not overly difficult, although like all Egosoft plots, what you get depends a lot on what your flying. It acts like a mini Fractured Space guide.A few comments on the plot before we start. The developers have made it easy to refresh yourself in game on what is going on, and how to control your ship. Luckily since this is a timer, I don’t really have to explain how it works. You can see the gamma timer at the top-center of all of the in-game screenshots I have in this article. It is worth showing up to gamma 30 seconds early so you can move into the bubble as soon as gamma is available for capture. Note: the other team will fight you tooth and nail for gamma, so expect a big fight. Jump to the central point on the map and move within the capture bubble to claim gamma and its sweet treasures for your team. If you are rusty on your ancient Greek, gamma is literally translated as “central starbase which yields great bonuses.” The Greeks were really ahead of their time.Įvery couple of minutes, the gamma base is up for grabs. All of these generators can be destroyed, leaving the enemy home base permanently disabled. The enemy base is a big ring, and on the outside of the ring are generators that can be attacked which when destroyed will incapacitate permanently a section of the self defense turrets. The self-defense ability of the enemy home base can be destroyed. Only the enemy home base will ever deal damage to you. There are no towers, or creeps to hurt you. The auto defenses of the home base are the only NPC damage you will take in the game. Only one difference, the enemy home base will shoot at you. This helps to pass the time, and not feel like a useless bum when travelling through an empty sector to capture a mine.Ĭapturing the enemy base is exactly like every other station. An enemy controlled mine has little worker ships flying around it, mining, that you can blow up to receive a small amount of income. I lied a little when I said there were no NPCs to kill and get income. ![]() This process doesn’t take very long, and gets quicker as the game progresses. Capturing mines is accomplished by moving inside their capture bubble (a sphere around the mine) and staying in it till it is yours. Fractured Space revolves around capturing mines which passively grow your income. There are no minions, or NPCs in-game to kill and be rewarded with money or upgrade points. ![]() The way this objective is accomplished is unique though. The basic gameplay is super straightforward. I have had days where I logged in for my reward, and to get one day closer to a free ship (the Leviathon, it’s a pretty solid tank with a mega laser that melts ships). The developers just want you to get online. Fortunately, this reward is not based on consecutive logins. The other thing you will notice when logging in is the daily reward. ![]()
